Chiang Mai Gate Market

Every evening, the stretch of Bumrung Buri Road outside Chiang Mai Gate, the Old City's south gate, fills with food stalls. It's a local street-food market rather than a souvenir one. Graze from stall to stall: khao soi, sai oua sausage, khao kha moo braised pork leg, som tam, grilled chicken with sticky rice, then roti, khanom krok or mango sticky rice to finish. I'd come around 6:30–7pm and share lots of small plates.
