Kaeng Tai 2559 is a southern Thai curry-on-rice shop on the canal road in the Hang Dong area, and it runs on the breakfast-and-lunch rhythm of a proper local kitchen. You point at the trays: sweet pork, moo hong, turmeric chicken soup, salty boiled mackerel, dry-fried pork ribs and a rotation of fiery southern curries. A plate costs very little. It opens early and closes after lunch, so come before the best trays run out. Expect real southern heat.
