Pai-Yan Yai is a Thai drinking and eating spot near Mae Jo in San Sai, north of the city, popular with local students and families. It opens in the evening, with Thai food to share and drinks at local prices of around 200–300 baht a head. It's a long way from the tourist areas, so it only makes sense if you're staying near Mae Jo University or want a properly local night out.
