Ang Kep Nam Mae Thi

Lamphun road · South (Lamphun / Doi Tao road)

About

Mae Thi Reservoir is a royal-initiative reservoir at Ban Doi Wiang in Ban Thi district, which is over the provincial line in Lamphun, about 30–40 km from Chiang Mai. It was built under a King Rama IX project to irrigate local farmland, and it's a quiet stretch of water with mountains behind it. There isn't much to do beyond walking the dam and taking in the view, which is exactly the point: it's a peaceful spot for a picnic or a sunset stop on a drive out east. Bring your own food and drink.
