Mae Ya Waterfall
Doi Inthanon & Mae Wang · Doi Inthanon / Mae Wang / Chom Thong
About
Mae Ya is the big tiered waterfall in the southern corner of Doi Inthanon National Park, and a lot of Inthanon tours skip it, which is a fair reason to make the detour yourself. From Chom Thong you take Highway 1009, then the signed Mae Ya turn-off and roughly 14 km of access road to its own checkpoint, followed by a forest walk of about 300 m. The water spreads across a wide rock face instead of dropping in one chute. Give it an hour or so on site, bring water and shoes with grip, and read the signs before assuming you can swim.
